Human trafficking is one of the worst human rights violations, and is the fastest growing area of organised crime in the world. The Dominican Republic is a significant hub for human trafficking, where both local and international victims are exploited and used for various forms of slavery. In the Dominican Republic, many factors, including limited government resources, a tourism-centric economy, high demand for trafficked victims, and low risk for criminal activities create an environment where human trafficking can flourish. Organised crime syndicates capitalise on these factors, and significantly contribute to this heinous crime against humanity.
Anti Trafficking Bureau is a registered non-profit organization in the Dominican Republic, and has been working directly with the Dominican Republic Government’s Anti Trafficking Department, National/Federal Police, and partner NGOs since 2017. Anti Trafficking Bureau’s approach to combating human trafficking involves effective collaboration. Along with federal and local law enforcement, special investigators, healthcare management professionals and various service providers, ATB coordinates comprehensive services in the areas of education and prevention, intelligence gathering and investigation, rescue operations, and specialised victim care management. Your contribution will go towards bringing restoration and hope to the lives of trafficked victims.
